Good Bye AFSers 09-10

First of all I have to say that I was the big-leader at this camp. I took time to sit down to organize things that have to be done before the camp. The camp was located in Oslo area in periode: 30th June - 3rd July 2010. I had a great time there with the AFSers and I really enjoyed being a leader... Allthough there were too much to take care of sometimes.

The second: I work as voluteer for AFS. Why do I do that? I do that because I have been on an exchange year with AFS once, in Switzerland, and because of this exchange organisation I had the best year of my life! AFS has brought a lot of good experiences and memories into my life, so I felt guilty and wanted to give something back. Therefore I wanted to work as a volenteer for them. I LOVE YOU, AFS!

I took a buch of pictures during the camp, so I will just pick some to post here. I will not explain you what we actually did there, because that will take like 2 metres the write... Let's have a look at the pictures instead!

I trust SAS.

Poor juice box. It turns out to be AFS juice. Just because we love AFS so much!

2nd day. We play a lot of games in AFS camps.

Still playing the same game.

Pasta salad. The best AFS luch you can ever get!

The shool that we stayed at.

AFS Thailand with his Norway T-shirt. I like this one.

AFS Indonasia says good bye to everyone. She has to leave Norway a day before the others. I miss her!

On the way to Vigelandsparken.

These two scultures welcomed us. Seriously, but not really..

Yep, been there done that.

This was the one of the halarious moment. This old guy wanted to stand amongs young girls and be taken picture with them. He was kind of cool thoug, as you can see how he pose.

The main leader and the oldest leader on the camp with AFS t-shirts!

Haha, me trying to be pretty.

This is art.

This too.

This is a funny art.

I thought: Look at the birds... I wish I could fly!

Oh, here we go.. The seat was way to high for me. This is actually other's city-bicycle...

Happy AFSers: from left AFS Netherland and Hong Kong

AFS Thailand. I miss you!

On the departure day at the airport where over 100 AFSers are gathered, included voluteers and other important people from the AFS office... I guess we were about 200 people there.

This is Gardemoen.

The leader greets you, thai style.

Standing in line to check the bagages... It is soon time to leave..

Good bye AFSers. I hope to see you again some day!

After this AFS camp I dreamed about the AFS students, especially they from Thailand, because I had a lot of contact with them during their exchange year... Ah, I have to admit that I miss you guys a lot, you made my break-year so much more exciting! LOVE YOU!

The journey to/in India part IX

Finally. Finally, my friends. We are at the ending of the trip in India. Sorry that it took so long time to upload between each time... Well, someone has more to do than others, right?

After we went to the festival in Haridware we simply returned back to the great capital of India, New Delhi. Cause to the heavy rush hour as we arrived in New Delhi, we arrived to the hotel very late. And as we almost reached  there was some trouble with the van... Incredibly enough, we spended almost the whole day in the van heading back to New Delhi! If I do not remember wrong, we stayed at "Ajanta Hotel".
Here are pictures during the trip back to New Delhi.

"There are two things that you need when you drive a car in India: 1) Good horn 2) Good break," our guide told us. Here you see the back side of a truck.

If you do not know the Norwegian language, you will not have an idea why this is so funny. "Dass" means toalet.
The next day started with Lotus Temple. What I recommend you NOT TO DO is: DO NOT GO THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY! Why? Your feet will burn(unless it is raining though)! I still can not believe that I was there once... Alright, what you have to do when you want to enter into the temple is to take of your shoes, of course. Logically enough, in the middle of the day, the sun was shining and made the ground so damn hot. It was impossible to not scream out loud for each step I took! Inside the temple was cool, peaceful and beautiful. If you are in New Delhi, do not miss the Lotus Temple!

After the visit in Lotus Temple we went to New Delhi's greatest shopping mall Select City Walk. What impressed me is that this shopping mall is huge and people who were there are rich people. I felt like I was in completely wrong place, because I know nothing about being rich... Sometimes I felt like people were staring at me from head to toe, because they probably can see that I do not quite belong to their society. So what did I do at the mall exept from shopping? I got nail extentions and ate delicious-expensive ice-cream...

I got too busy while shopping, so here is the only picture from the mall... Haha..

I do not know if you can see it. But I just got the nail extentions here!!

Right outside the mall you can find beggars(I only saw children). I also saw how people can be so cold and just walk by them. I think that made the biggest impression to me; the difference between the rich and the poor.

After we finished shopping. We went to a typical Indian market, where I got Henna painting (this image is not taken by me). And I went crazy shopping a lot of things that I do not really need...

Here are things that I found that day.

The next day we went to another shopping mall, but not as awesome as the first one. After that we spended luch time in a chinese restaurant Drums of Heaven, which was the best chinese restaurant for some years back. They have huge menu for expensive prices. But the dishes were worth for the money. For me there was too much, so I could not eat it up... Shame on me! Later that day the guide and his family invited us to their house. They served deep fried vegetables as apetizer and for the main court there were a lot of Indian dishes. His wife cooks very well. And I have to say that this is the best ending of our India trip, it could not be more perfect.

Can you see my henna?
On the way to guide's house. Here is a bus station: "Junk Market".

From left: Our guide, his wife's mum, his daughter and his wife.
I thank you our guide who brought us a lot of experiences and made sure that we got a place to stay every day we arrived to a new place. I thank you his wife who made our last night in New Delhi so perfect. Thank you to his daugter who could give us a ride.
