It has been a while now(again!). I hope that people are still following this blog. And thanks to you all who is still stuck with me and this blog. I have had a busy start on the studies and been pretty busy getting know/use to new things in a strange city. Eventhough I got much help from friends and relatives in Oslo, I still had to do things on my own. But I am doing just fine now.
Let's move on to the next last entry about the India journey!
Last time I posted about Yoshimath and Auli. This time I will post about Rishikesh and Haridware -two very interesting places! Rishikesh is known as the town of meditation, yoga and such stuffs. And the british band "The Beatles" went there too. For me it was so fantastic whenever I imagined that one of my favourite bands went there as well. At the time we arrived in Rishikesh there were a lot of people. Cause to the Meditation Festival which happens in that periode, I believe, thousand of people need to visit Rishikesh... How ever we did not see much of Rishikesh though. We took a little boat to the otherside where "the main Rishikesh" is located, and went to a restaurant for having dinner. After that we hurried back to our minubus, before heading to Haridware -where the one of Indian biggest festival took place. The festival reminds me a lot of the full-moon festival in Thailand...

Can you see how many we were on that boat?! |
My strawberry shake. I do not recommend anyone of you to drink this. I felt sick after I drank half of it. |
I have posted A LOT of positive things about India, but here comes something less positive; This dish is called Dosa. It is savory cake(the white ones), which is made out of rice, and some sauses to dip the cakes in. I love Indian food, but this is the most taste less dish I have tasted during the whole trip. If you do not believe me, you should have some. Then you will see what I mean! |
Chinese Chopsuey. I love chinese food very much, but this one did sort of dissapointed me.. |
On the bridge. Yes, we went there too! Isn't the little boy/girl in yellow looking cute? |
At the festival in Haridware. Here you see the Ganges! People are praying while they are holding a cup(which is made of a big green leaf) with different flowers in it and a tiny candle. |
Here you see the flower-cup, that I tried to explain above. |
A lady who went all around to bless people. She gave all of us a red mark in the middle of our forehead. |
Alright, pay attention on this picture. Does it look crowded to you? Well, I do not think so! Scroll down, then you will see the festival on the next day... |
Here I am, and I just look like one of them! |
My BFF's father who washed his legs in the Ganges. He told me that it was cold. Really?! |
In the morning on the next day. The view from a bridge. Now, this is what I called "crowded"! |
Bathing time in the holy river, Ganges. |
This man is praying before he dips his head and his whole body into the water... |
...like this! |
Everyone is taking a bath. Old people, children, youngers, the ashes and the tourists. :D |
A man and his daughter, who was so scared after her father dipped her into the water. |
There she is, looking strange at us -the white-skinned-strangers(exept from me). |
Oh. India. Oh. Culture. Oh. Pakora. Oh. I miss India! |
