First of all our guide from Norway did not come with us. He said that he did not get permission from his boss to go, and we did not get this message before we all was checked in. We felt completely lost for a moment, because none of us had an idea where to stay or go. But we did not step back, we took the flight from Oslo to Helsinki and from Helsinki to New Delhi. As we arrived in New Delhi we got another message from our dear guide that the bus company(which we supposed to travel around with) is broken, but there will be a guy who will pick us up at the airport. Well, we were all exited if this guy would show up. As we walked out there was a man who was holding a sign with one of our names. He could not understand a word in English and none of us could talk Hindi. I was a bit scared for a moment and I thought: "Where does he bring us?", "Where are we heading to?". But then we asked a man, who works at the airport and could speak English, about where this guy was taking us. "To the hotel", he said. Alright, then we got into the car and drove to the hotel. Later that day we took a sightseeing in Delhi and stopped at a very nice restaurant to have lunch, after that we drove the see the Lutus Temple, but it was closed(it was on a Sunday). So we went back to the hotel. Luckily one of us knows someone who could help us. So we got a driver, a guide and a trip arranged later that evening. In the next early morning we got picked up by them and headed to Jaipur, in Rajasthan.
On the first day I could not think much, because I could not catch enough sleep on the flight and I was jetlagged. The temperature was too hot(I left from -5 to 40 degrees), the air was poluted and hard to breath in, the traffic was chaotic, people honked their horn so wildly and from all of these I got headache and the space was turning round and round for me. What I experienced that day will not be forgotten, because that happened on my 20 birthday- wish me a happy birthday, y'all!
I would like to thank you all the bithday SMS's which I have not got, because my phone was turned off and left at home in 2 weeks, and thank you so much for the wall posts on my birthday! Thank you for the birthday greeting in the local newspaper. I love you!
I have not yet uploaded the pictures or range the places we've been to. So I will come back later with pictures, discriptions and more surprises. Follow up, guys!
